Who doesn't want to save money, especially in our gardens? And in the current economic climate many of us are already feeling the pinch and have to resort to more efficient uses of the "Almighty Dollar". But that isn't just a bad thing, is it?

Thanks for the mention! Yes, some of my suggestions can be considered controversial I agree, particularly taking away the lawn element of the yard, but I thought I'd explore practical ideas to keep yard costs low. I love gardens and am an avid gardener, but have seen how others have approached their yard and thought I'd report on it. Thanks for a great list here!

I think the simplist way of saving money is being patient - grow things from seed and take cuttings. You get more satisfaction than buying the plant from a nursery

Helen - very true. It always seems that time and money have their trade-offs. To save time it costs money and vice versa. Good tips.
