I've been tagged...again.

I was tagged by Kathie Thomas over at Virtual Assistant. Cheers Kathie! Being tagged means that I need to share 7 Random facts about myself and tie them to my blog Gardening Tips 'N Ideas.

So here are my 7 Random Facts:

  1. Offering gardening tips to other gardeners seems like preaching to the choir but I realised early in the piece that you can never know everything - especially when it comes to gardening. Even though I offer garden tips and inspirational ideas on my blog it's mainly the things I found out from others.
  2. I would love to take a year traveling around the world blogging from different gardens, both renowned and hidden secrets. If someone beats me to this one, let me know and I shall subscribe immediately.
  3. My greatest gardening triumph came when I first succeeded propagating some lavender cuttings. It hooked me from that point onwards and I've never looked back.
  4. I've always been intrigued by the idea to garden naked, but I'm not sure I would ever go through with it - (a) the fences are too low, and (b) I can't afford trauma counseling for all 4 of my kids.
  5. I secretly desire that one day someone will nominate my garden for Australian Garden of the Year. I'm not sure such a competition exists but if it did could you imagine the size of the trophy - whoppingly huge, I'm sure.
  6. As I'm looking back over the history of my blog - from the security of my banana lounge perched on the patio - I hope that I will be able to reflect on all the gardeners I was able to help inspire and encourage in their hobby. Who know's, maybe this blog might be instrumental in helping young people take up gardening instead of spending their life on the PlayStation. Wouldn't that be awesome!
  7. It was my birthday yesterday. I turned 35 and became really mellow as I contemplated what a mid-life crisis might look like. Hopefully it includes a red, convertible mower.

And for the 7 people I'm about to tag, here are the rules of engagement;

Each player starts with 7 random facts/habits about themselves. People who are tagged need to then report this on their own blog with their 7 random facts as well as these rules. They then need to tag 7 others and list their names on their blog. They are also asked to leave a comment for each of the tagged, letting them know they have been tagged and to read the blog.

Here are 7 of my favorite blogs and or people:

  1. Marcus Holt - Holt Press
  2. Scott Vawser - No Guarantees
  3. Colleen Vanderlinden - In the Garden Online
  4. Val - Val has her say
  5. Kim - A Study in Contrasts
  6. Peter Holt - Holties House
  7. Kerri - although she's very busy at the moment at Colors of the Garden

Adding Kerri to my list just reminded me that I promised to dish out the Thinking Blogger's Award that Kerri so generously awarded me. I promise I will do that this week.

Happy Birthday for yesterday Stuart - you're still young. Mid life crisis can hit at any age - it's all what goes on in the mind! But for some males it means a new youth-hood, if there's such a phrase. My hubby took up mountain bike riding on his 50th a few years ago and now participates in 6 hour enduro races and has a total ball showing off to those half his age, jumping jumps and tearing down hills.

Stu, been there, done that! Back in May, in fact. Sorry, dear friend, not doing that again, especially as I've just announced my absence from blogger world for a week - going to Adelaide by train!

I love your idea, blogging from different gardens around the world, hope you get to do it one day.

And happy birthday!

Fair enough Val. I wouldn't do a meme twice either.

Have an awesome time in Adelaide.

Happy Birthday, Stuart!

Oh dear. Do you really want to know seven random things about me? LOL. Sounds like fun.

Fancy seeing my name on the list :) Sorry Stuart, but I'm going to have to pass on this one. I need to catch up on my posts as I've gotten way behind lately.
I did a meme similar to this one a while back but I think it was 5 random facts. I doubt if I could come up with 7 more that would be of interest to anyone! :)
Naked gardening? I never would've suspected these kind of thoughts from you. Hmmm....wonder what other idiosyncrasies are hiding in your mind.....

I've got a mind like a sieve! I forgot to say happy birthday! I hope you had a fun celebration and got lots of hugs and kisses from your wife and kids!

Happy Birthday, Stuart!!! :)

I did a similar meme earlier this spring as well, but I will confess here and now that I have been intrigued by the thought of naked gardening, too. About the closest I have come to that is topless sunbathing at my parents' house while I was in college, but... well... let's just say that exponentially more people live around me now!

Cheers all for your birthday wishes. I had a great day and was blessed with some awesome gifts - which I will share as posts later down the track.

Kim - very risque of you. It always spoils it when populations grow and the chance of being inadvertently spotted increases.

Kerri - Yes, naked gardening. But not in a perverse join-a-naturist-club kind of way to hang out with old wrinklies for the weekend. More like a Garden of Eden type experience. The way it was meant to be...
