Gardening tips, gardening info and heaps of ideas to help gardeners of all experience get more out of their hobby and out of their gardens.

I'm always keen to promote charity organisations that can turn my normal purchases into dollars for poverty stricken countries. So when Johnny Platt from Rectifi contacted me to review his site, I was more than happy to plug what he's doing.
The eternal skeptic, I wanted to find out who Johnny Platt was and whether this organisation was legit. I'm happy to say that everywhere I turned seemed to uncover more praise and accolades for this guy who's devoted his life to helping those in need.
This report by the BBC explains Platt's desire to help those in need by creating a search engine similar to Google and Yahoo that can access the web. Rectifi sells link advertising similar to the main competitors but 90% of the profit is sent to charity organisations.
Rectifi.org also sells products online in the same way that Amazon.com works with more than a million lines on offer. The majority of the item's commission also goes to charities and purchasers can keep a running tally of their contribution to the world's poor.
So here's how you can help. Firstly, change your startup page in your IE or Firefox browser to Rectifi.org and use this as your preferred search engine.
Second, before sifting through Amazon's online catalogues bookmark Rectifi's gardening pages and see if you can pick up a bargain or two there. Note: this is only available to UK shoppers.
I would certainly suggest that perhaps Rectifi offer their shopping outlet to the world and that they offer some form of affiliate program where publishers can show off their donations from purchasers directed from their sites.
This is a great idea and one we should all be participating in. Kudos Johnny...

Hi Stuart, thanks for the mention!
Making the shopping worldwide will be a lot of work so it won't be happening immediately - however our search engine should soon be fed by Ask.com meaning there will be better results and a wide range of advertisers wherever you are in the world.
Widgets are also planned, and I like the idea of websites showing how much they've raisd, I expect I'll make a start on them once we've got a new search feed.
All the best, and thanks again for spreading the word.
