Gardening tips, gardening info and heaps of ideas to help gardeners of all experience get more out of their hobby and out of their gardens.
Congratulations to Andrea from Buy Organic who was the first to guess that our garden was of course the Mahallat Spring Garden in Tehran commonly known as Sarchesmeh.
In a bizarre twist we actually had two readers with the correct answer yet one was already added to my Email Whitelister while the other hadn't been yet. So, because it was so close I've decided to award Colleen from In the Garden Online with a $20 Amazon voucher as well.
A few people have told me that they have been watching the competition for the whole time and enjoyed it but for my own humouring (and knowing whether it's worth running another one somewhere down the track) can you please make a quick note in my comments to tell me that you were keeping tabs of the competition.
Thanks to all those who did have a go. I hope it wasn't too hard and you found that ripping all your hair out didn't became a viable option.
Here's the garden...
If you click the picture it will take you to the site where I sourced the image. I couldn't acknowledge the article during the competition as someone would have picked it up immediately.
This isn't a garden that I've been to but from the look of it I certainly think I would enjoy seeing it. If you have been there and can shed some more light on its history let us know some info.
Thanks again for playing and I hope you enjoyed it as much as I have. To our two winners Andrea and Colleen - check your inbox.

Hi Stuart,
Thanks for the gift certificate. I've been wanting to get some organic gardening books for a while, so now I can head over to Amazon and get them right away.
I subscribed to your blog a while ago and have been checking in every day of the competition. I enjoyed the comp but it was too hard! I've been to lots of gardens around the world but never in Iran. Maybe one day though.
Thanks again,
Andrea

Cheers for the feedback Andrea.
I'm sorry it was too hard. I wasn't sure how difficult to make it as it would have been a real bummer if it had been snapped up in the first day or two.
I liked it that it created some tension for a few readers hoping that the next clue would give them just enough info for them while not letting on to other readers what it was.
Thanks again for playing and enjoy your organic gardening books.

Congrats to Andrea and Colleen. I thought it was a good competition Stuart. I found lots of stuff when I googled Spring Garden, but not the right answer :)

Very interesting, Stuart. I always like a bit of a challenge. I had no hope of winning that one as I've never even heard of that particular garden.
Happy Christmas to you and all the family, Stuart.

Thank you Kerri and Alice and may you both have wonderful Christmas periods with your family as well.
I was hoping to encourage people to search it out a little so I'm glad you used Google to find some answers Kerri. Shame it didn't come up with the right ones.

Awww, Stuart. You are so nice :-) Thank you very much for the Amazon voucher. I see that they sell Park Seeds through Amazon....interesting :-)
I thought it was a tough contest, but you're right--it did add a bit of tension, and I think it challenged us in a good way. Had you not provided clues, I never would have gotten it. And it wasn't until your "spring" garden clue that I had something to work with. I had never heard of this garden, either, but after a little bit of haphazard Googling, I found something that I thought matched.
Thanks again, Stuart. This was a lot of fun. I've never, ever won anything, so I don't usually bother entering contests :-)
