Almost a month ago we commenced work on our new garden 'room'. Since then we've been busy, or if we're not busy then the weather has not been good, or we've just had random moments of laziness.

However, the project continues and after a little shopping spree in Bunbury (the closest city nearly 60km north of Busselton) we added some more yesterday. While I haven't been doing too much in this garden, albeit carting in the resources, my beautiful wife has taken complete ownership of this patch of dirt. She's even planning on naming it after herself - Deb's Garden.

We bought in about 20 large 600x600 concrete slabs last weekend which are now been broken up and laid as crazy paving. The plan is to grow a groundcover in between these and we're still undecided as to which one that will be. We've narrowed it down to; creeping thyme, chamomile or ajuga reptans.

The arbor is almost finished now with just the final roping of the top posts to complete. I added the wire trellis for the grapevines yesterday and planted our two newly purchased vines. We will have a Perlette (white seedless table variety) on one side and a Crimson (red seedless table variety) on the other.

Apart from our recycled slabs that are being used for the paving we also picked up an old cattle watering trough from the salvage yard (these are the best places to buy landscaping materials). The trough has now been filled with potting mix and we moved our strawberry plants from the herb garden. Hopefully we'll see this trough filled to overflowing with an abundance of strawberry fruit - if we can keep the kids away from it that is.
