Viking VSM500: Great Mother's Day gift!
Not long now ladies. If you have young children still living at home they're probably counting down the sleeps until it's Mother's Day. Our 4 are already planning the special "breakfast-in-bed" and what it may take to create an extraordinary moment for mum and the excitement of children wanting to celebrate is always a motivating and inspiring sentiment.
I've been on the lookout for a mixer and have never really found one that's lived up to my ex-catering background expectations until I stumbled across the VSM500. Viking make incredible mixers and their parts are robust enough to handle (almost) commercial applications - and how good do they look. I'm not expecting that the kids will have saved enough pocket money to buy one of these for Mother's Day but I could encourage them to save enough for Fathers Day!
Viking make a whole range of assorted quality kitchen appliances including blenders, food processors - even cookware and cutlery. However, the Viking VSM500 is the standout star.
The Viking mixer is powered by an 800 watt metal-geared motor and supports a myriad of bowl sizes with the 4.7l (5qt) mixing bowl setting the standard. Its generous 3 speeds allows you the options of beating, kneading and whisking so you'll be able to bake cakes, bread and even whisk the low calorie cream to go on top.
The VSM500's big brother, the VSM700, has a more powerful motor and bigger bowl sizes so if you think the VSM500 might be a tad small for your cooking experiments, check out the bigger one. The VSM500 will set you back around US$400 and the VSM700 approximately US$500.

I never like to buy Deb kitchen appliances as presents (I don't want to infer anything in this age of liberated women) but this one product would be an exception because I know that she would die to have one (well...not literally).
